School, School, School

So this past week I have been putting off my studying as much as is humanly possible (one way in which I've done this is to post this update). Well, now the school work has caught up with me and I have one week left to study for a big test that I haven't even prepared for. On top of that I have another test coming up this Wednesday that I have to study for and I haven't. Why do we procrastinate like this, what is it that is so terrible about studying? I'm usually fine once I get going on studying, it's just the getting there that I need to work on. I need some tangible goals to help me overcome this fault that I have. I'm not even a full time student this semester so I have no excuses. What do you guys do to help you get going on your school work? And how do you fit life in as well? I'm just so clueless! At least I know that I'm not going to have to do this forever, or am I?

I really am not the person to give you advice, since I'm a terminal procrastinator. I've never been able to make myself do homework before it comes down to the wire! But good luck with yours, homework of any sort is NO FUN!

Honestly, I think it is easier to get homework done when you are a full time student because you have so many things to do if you procrasinate, you won't be able to catch up. I just have to make myself sit at the computer and focus. It always helps to get into a new place to study. For example, I study better when I'm at school because I don't have anything else to do but get my work done. At home, I find a million things to distract myself with. Good luck catching up!

I am probably the wrong person to ask...hence, no school since 2002! Maybe I should go back and work on my studying skills again, since they were nonexistent obviously.:) I hope you do good on your tests!

You could just do like me and stress yourself out that you aren't doing anything to the point that your too stress out to do anything so you don't. Then the stress starts again. Really.
But the thing that I have found helps me focus is to study in groups, if appropiate. Or if I am studying by myself and find my mind wandering, I play some really, really soft classical/ soothing type music (collective soul works good) and it helps my brain go to work.
Good luck with studying, that is what I sould be doing right now. Instead I'm going to go stress about that I'm not.

It is really hard to find a balance between life and school. Basically, I had to save life for the weekends and the summer time. As for getting your homework done, I'd follow Carma's advice. She's more level headed and goal minded than the rest of us. I never got anything done unless the deadline was imminent. Good luck! By the way, that picture is great. I can't thing of a better way to sum it up!
